As we had planned out completely what we'd planned to film, we decided to start looking at possible soundtracks we could use for the film. I used a website in AS called "Incompetech", in which you can download royalty free music and soundtracks. So I browsed the website to look for a few soundtracks we might be able to use that is perfect for our short film. As we couldn't think of what soundtrack would fit in the background of the film. This is because despite it being a clear narrative, the sound tracks that we were finding just didn't seem to fit at all to the starting scenes of 'Danny' travelling to the house of the sleepover.
After browsing through many of the different soundtracks, under the "horror" genre we found a few possible soundtracks we could use. We firstly needed music for our first scene where Dan bikes to Thomas' house, for this we needed something quite calming to try and set the scene for the audience. We tried out four various different soundtracks, but they all didn't quite fit our conventions and didn't portray what we wanted.
So we moved over to a website called Bensound.com, another music website in which I looked at in AS so i was familia with the different categories and sounds. Where you could also purchase Royalty Free music for free, provided you give the website credit. We then looked through the tracks under the category "cinematic" and we noticed there were eight different pieces of music that we could possibly use in this scene. We found that the song named "Tomorrow", this was ideal for our piece as it helped to build tension and set the scene, whilst abiding to our genre conventions.
